The full team in front of the EIGSI building in La Rochelle

The people who build the car

More than eighty students working across the technical departments, the Cost Report, the Business Plan, communication and project management.

Who does what

This season's leadership

The Team Principal and the division leads. The Communication and Management division is led directly by the Team Principal. Department leads are elected in November.

The organisation

Who works on what

The team is organised in five divisions under the Team Principal: Engineering, which designs and builds the car; the Cost Report, which costs every part, justifies its manufacturing processes and draws up the carbon footprint of building the car; the Business Plan, which builds a fictional commercial and financial strategy; the Concept Class, where first-year students design their own single-seater concept; and Communication and Management, which handles partnerships, media and the life of the association.

82 members are involved this season, not counting fourth-year students: at EIGSI, they spend six months on Erasmus in another country and are therefore not in the team at the moment.

Technical team

Seven active departments, each responsible for a sub-assembly of the car, from the first sketch to the fitted part. On top of these comes the Competition Performance department: track preparation, set-up, race logistics.

Cost Report Team

One lead per technical area, responsible for costing every part of the car and justifying its manufacturing processes before the Cost & Manufacturing jury: why one process rather than another, and why the part is made or bought. The team establishes the cost of each part, its associated manufacturing processes, and the complete carbon footprint of the materials and of building the car.

Seven technical departments and Competition Performance

Each department is responsible for its systems, from design to testing. A member takes on a topic and sees it through to the end. The Competition Performance department prepares the car for the track.

Powertrain

Engine, intake, exhaust, cooling, transmission.

Vehicle Dynamics

Suspension, steering, braking, vehicle dynamics.

Chassis

Tubular structure, roll hoops, driver protection.

Aero

Composite bodywork and airflow management.

Electronics

Wiring harness, ECU, sensors, safety chain.

Simulation

Structural analysis, thermal, dynamics, engine.

Vehicle integration

Overall consistency, masses, packaging, assembly.

Competition Performance

Track preparation, set-up, race logistics.

Business Plan Team

An imagined company, pitched to investors

The Business Plan Team builds a fictional commercial and financial strategy, which it defends before a jury at Silverstone. It does not work on our project's real budget.

The rules ask it to imagine a company: it offers a product derived from our prototype, or from one of its key components, and it must make a profit. The students play the company's managers and present it to a jury playing the investors: ten minutes of presentation, five minutes of questions.

Each year, the competition also imposes a special condition. In 2026, the task was to show how the product could be used safely in motorsport.

The event is worth 115 points out of 1,000, more than the Skidpad or Acceleration. In 2026, the team scored 62.1 points there. Relations with the companies that support us are handled by the Communication and Management team.

From the classroom to a real racing project

Every member takes on real responsibilities: designing a part, validating a wiring harness, preparing a test, defending a choice or finding the means to build.

Recruitment is open to technical profiles as well as business and communication profiles. Motivation, reliability and the desire to learn count as much as your starting level.

Design, manufacturing, validation: every topic is taken all the way to the part fitted on the car.
